Our instructors are based around the Maidstone and Medway areas and so these are the areas where we focus our intensive driving courses. We are however more than happy to consider intensive courses further afield though - please just contact us and we will let you know if we can help you.
The reason we like to focus on Maidstone and Medway are that these are the areas that our instructors know the best and in which they have helped many students over the years pass their tests. This means your instructor will not only know the areas to give you good practice routes, they will also have a good knowledge of the likely test routes from the local centres and can practise these with you to help build your confidence for the test. Above all though having detailed local knowledge means that we can ensure your lessons are safe and fun.
Before starting a course with us you generally need to have passed your theory test and it is best if you have got a date booked for your practical test so that we can structure the course around this date. Your instructor will be more than happy to speak to you about possible dates and advise you on when might be best to book. We recommend having an assessment lesson to help decide exactly how long you need as well as giving you a chance to meet your instructor. We will be able to advise you on how long the waiting lists are for test dates at the various test centres so please give us a call.
You can find out more details about the Maidstone and Medway areas below, the exact areas used will obviously vary based on your exact location.
Maidstone Intensive Driving Courses
Around the Maidstone area it is possible to get a good mix of town and rural driving on your intensive driving course. Rural routes follow the roads between the local villages e.g. around Burham, Wouldham, Eccles, Coxheath, West Malling, Kings Hill, Ditton, Staplehurst. For busier, more complicated road layouts we will use Maidstone, Allington, Larkfield, Aylesford, Borough Green, Barming and sometimes the Medway area.
Medway Intensive Driving Courses
Similar to Maidstone, there is a mix of town and rural driving in and around Medway. The busier areas such as Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham, Rainham and Strood will be used for town driving and then the areas in and around places such as Lordswood, Cliffe Woods, Chattenden, Cuxton and Walderslade will be used for rural routes.
Theory Test Centres
There are very few DVSA theory test centres in the South East. The nearest to the Maidstone and Medway areas is in Chatham. After this the next three (depending on where you are from) are likely to be either Canterbury, Tunbridge Wells or Sidcup. You can also find out the exact nearest theory test centre using the DVSA theory test centre search.
Practical Driving Test Centres
There are far more practical DVSA test centres than there are theory, meaning there is a lot more choice about where you take your test. It is usually best to take your test in an area you know well, preferably where you have had your lessons, however depending on test centre availability this may not always be possible. Booking as far in advance as possible will help to make sure you get your preferred test centre. We will be able to advise you on how busy the various centres are if you contact us. The likely test centres from the Maidstone and Medway areas are the below but you can find out the exact nearest centres to you by using the DVSA practical driving test centre search.
